| Biography* | The ancestry of Edith is currently unknown. From Alice Doak (Mrs. Woodie Doak), March 2000: . Some people think Edith was a Cox. If she was the one I've located she was not the mother of all the children. Ref. Currituck Co. NC Will Bk 2, p. 21, Oct. 1792, 26 Mar. 1795 - William Miller. Wife: Daughters: Frances Miller, Uphanne Miller, EDE COX. Grandson: William Quidley. Wit: Johnathan Bright, Rebecker Kit, Aaron Bright. [From Byron Johnson, we learn that this Ede Miller was probably the one who married Javan Cox and who moved to Tennessee.] . There were Hardys in the Norfolk Co. area near Backwoods. I thought perhaps Edith might be a Hardy simply because of name Hardy [among decendants]. I haven't had an opportunity to check them as thoroughly as I'd like. | |
