| Biography* | Whit Malory Culpepper was born in Caldwell Parish, LA, November 16, 1864. He moved with his parents to Jackson Parish in 1869 when he was 4 years of age. His father, Charles Stuart Culpepper built a large log house with a wide hallway and front porch. Charles died in 1875 and his mother, brothers and sisters deeded the house and land (220 acres) to Whit Malory March 11, 1892. The house began to rot down, one room at a time. In 1906 he built a second house on the same land. This house was ½ mile from Ebenezer Church, graveyard, and baptizing place. It was 10 miles from Jonesboro, LA. In 1939 a third house was built on the same land. He had two sets of children and was still living on the same land at his death in 1952. The address was Route 1, Chatham, La. The house and land was deeded to son, Luther Culpepper in 1941, except for 1.40 acres to Bennie Culpepper and 3.40 to Joe Allen. Written by Cynthia Ann Culpepper in 1950.
