Biography* In 1860, Jackson McClung appears as 2 years old in the HH of George W. Culpepper, his wife Mary, and a 25-year-old Ann McClung, who must have been Jackson's mother. In 1870, he is listed as Jackson Culpepper, living with George W. and Mary Culpepper. In 1880, he is the head of household and listed as M. Jackson Clun, half-brother to Mary Culpepper's other children. This latter census suggests that Mary and Ann in the 1860 census were probably one and the same, Mary Ann Elizabeth Martin, who married first a Mr. McClung, and second, George W. Culpepper.
