1930 Census1 Apr 1930 Gerald was listed as a son-in-law in Luther Blanton Culpepper's household on the 1930 Census at De Leon, Comanche Co., Texas.3

Marriage*4 Jul 1947 He married Norma Lee Price at Cisco, Eastland Co., Texas, on 4 Jul 1947. The 1947 marriage date was cited in Gerald's obituary. However, note that Gary Aulden Culpepper's birth record shows he was born 23 May 1945, the son of Corin Aulden Conner and Norma Lee Price. Since he was given a Culpepper surname even though his father was named Conner, it seems likely that Corin Conner was killed in WW-II after Gary was conceived. Then Gary's mother, Norma, must have married a Culpepper (most likely Gerald Dean Culpepper) prior to Gary Aulden Culpepper's birth in 1945. GLEN ROSE -- Gerald Dean Culpepper, 75, an instrumentation specialist for Brown and Root, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, in a Glen Rose nursing facility.
     Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose. Masonic graveside service: Fulton Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose.
     Gerald Dean Culpepper was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Tuscola, and married Norma L. Price, July 4, 1947, in Cisco. Gerald Culpepper served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Company G, 261st Infantry, 65th Division of Patton's 3rd Army. He turned down a battlefield promotion to 2nd Lt. in order to stay with his buddies.
