| Obituary* | 7 Oct 2008 | COLUMBUS, GA - Mary Eunice Culpepper, 79, of Columbus, GA died at her residence Sunday, October 5, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Mrs. Culpepper was born September 17, 1929 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late T. J. Welch and Wilful G. Richards Welch. She was a lifelong member of Rosehill Baptist Church where she was very active. Mrs. Culpepper will be remembered for her generous service with the Laney Mission Group, Annie L. Weaver Sunday School Class and the Nursery Ministry. She had retired from Southern Bell in 1984 and was a member of Pioneers and a Red Cross Volunteer. Mrs. Culpepper was a servant of the Lord and well known for helping others whether at church, a family member or a neighbor. She was a loving and caring friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Culpepper loved traveling with her late husband and friends. Her family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to her loving and caring caregivers, Irene Turner, Cindy Mullinex and Rosemary Webb. Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Culpepper, Sr. Survivors include her son, Charles Benny Culpepper, Jr. of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Diane C. Henson of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Cindy L. (Shannon ) McGarity and Jeffrey F. Henson; four great-grandchildren Kalli King, Max King, Ashlyn King and Dalton King; numerous friends.2 |
