Biography* Obituary:
Nellie Mae Mann Culpepper Spakes, 84, of the Palmyra community, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Born February 15, 1922, in Palmyra, she was a daughter of the late William Mac and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Raney Mann.

She was a retired dietitian and cafeteria manager for the Glendale public schools and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church at Palmyra.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Richard Culpepper and Odell Spakes; two brothers, Robert C. Mann and John H. Mann; and a sister, Mattie Pearl Mann Owen.

Survivors include two sons, James Mackie Culpepper of Pine Bluff, and Charles Alfred "Chuck" Culpepper of Palmyra; a daughter, Linda Nell Culpepper Hankins of Palmyra; seven grandchildren, Dana Roark of Monticello, Jimmy Culpepper and SiDonna Compton, both of Pine Bluff, SiLena Puckett of Bentonville, James Hankins of Watson Chapel, Brian Culpepper of Fayetteville and Dr. Chris Culpepper of Little Rock; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held February 15 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Palmyra with the Revs. John Marlar and Onas Gray officiating. Burial was at Palmyra Cemetery with arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service of Star City.3
