| Biography* | | James Chambers Boykin was born on a plantation in Alabama. His first wife, and mother of his children, was Eva Paxton, His second wife was Margaret S. Getty of Georgetown, DC, widow of Mr. Stevenson. In 1911, he was appointed Editor in Chief of the US Bureau of Education. Also acted as special agent of the Bureau in 1895 at various parts of the country. Manager at several of the Expositions for the US Government. Representative of the Interior Department. |
