Death*5 Dec 1880 He died at Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia, on 5 Dec 1880. "The many friends of Rev. T. C. Boykin, the Sunday-school evangelist, will be pained to learn that the hand of affliction has been laid upon him again, and his son, Thomas C. Boykin, Jr., snatched away from earth in the bloom of his young manhood. Young Boykin was was loved by all who knew him for the amiability of his disposition and exemplary deportment. In the public schools, none stood higher, or was more universally beloved by teachers and scholars. Ere he reached his majority the "Death Angel" called him to "cross over the river" to the land of eternal rest and perfect bliss. We sympathize with the bereaved father.".3,4
