Birth*1859 Lennia was born at Alabama in 1859.1 
 She was the daughter of Joseph Van Buren Brantley and Emily Katherine Travis. 
Biography* In the 1870 census, Thomas Brantley, age 13, and Lennia Brantley, age 11, appear in the household of Joseph and Emily Brantley. However, these children did not appear in Joseph and Emily's household in 1860, so they may have been adopted. A check of all Brantly/Brantley 1860 census records in Florida and in Conecuh Co., AL did not reveal these children. 
1870 Census1 Jun 1870 Emily, Benjamin, Robert, Thomas and Lennia listed as a household member living with Joseph Van Buren Brantley on the 1870 Census at Timmons, Putnam Co., Florida. Lennia and Thomas appear in the 1870 census as ages 11 and 13 respectively. However, they are not found in this household in the 1860 census, so either the ages were wrong in 1860 or their parents are not Joseph V. and Emily Travis Brantley..1
