     Joe R. Culpepper, 79, retired farmer, died at 5:30 a.m. 25 February 1964 in San Antonio and was buried in old Red Rock Cemetery 26 Feb 1964. Elder M.W. West and Elder W.C. Kyle Jr. conducted services from McCurdy Funeral Chapel. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jewel Roberts of Austin and Mrs. Ramah Alexander of Pearland; two sons, B.J. Culpepper of Libya, and Hilton A. Culpepper of Austin; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Born in Taylorsville 2 Feb 1895, he was a son of Amos A. and Elizabeth Dail Culpepper. He married Dora Tally at Taylorsville 8 Sep 1907, and spent most of his life in Caldwell County. Pallbearers were Herbert Alexander, Don Alexander, Joe Alexander, Charles Stricklin, Delbert Sanders, and David Culpepper.
