Since I did not get a chance to write her eulogy -- that is the common practice in the immediate family, that I do the eulogy -- I would like to offer this:

Grandmother was one of those people who gave all they had to anyone in need. She lived for the love of family and friend. She spent every waking moment of her life in the interest of others. She looked upon life with a joy and reverance for people and a wonder of simply being. She had that common Culpepper habit of reading voraciously, even after she became legally blind -- using a large magnifying glass. She was as kind and caring as it possible for a human being to be. In her late years, she was nearly blind, nearly deaf and nearly crippled due to an automotive accident, in which her sister Rosa Lee died. I never heard her complain. All she ever said of her condition was that some things had become more difficult. I never spoke to her without her telling me what a joy it was to talk to me. She always asked about how each individual was doing. I loved her with all my heart. God bless her. May she rest as she lived, full of joy.

Her loving grandson,
Charles Edward Culpepper, III.3
