Take an immediate left on Hunter's Trail West. At the end of this street you will find a heavily wooded lot. The graves and tombstones of William Culpepper (1845 - 9 Oct 1882) and his wife, Virginia M. Dunbar (27 Nov 1856 - 14 Feb 1921) are found on this lot. This was once farmland and is close to the Pasquotank River. Culpepper Lane is presumably named for this branch of the Culpepper family.
