Biography* Obituary
Mrs. Martha H. Culpepper died Friday, July 23, 1999, in Thomson. A private funeral service was held with with the Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Mrs. Culpepper, a native of Columbia County, had retired as a member of the McDuffie County Board of Education. She had taught for 12 years at Dearing High School. She was a member of the Dearing Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, director of the Young Woman's Auxiliary and was principal of the Vacation Bible School at Dearing Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Culpepper Harden; son-in- law, Greg Harden; granddaughter, Anna Harden; grandson, Marcus Harden, Thomson; Two brothers, Jabie Sanford Hardin Jr., Memphis, Tenn., and Dr. John A. Hardin, Augusta; two sisters, Edith Hardin Reese, Leah, and Ruth Hardin Mathews, Falls Church, Va. Memorials may be made to the Department of Medicine Research, c/o Dr. John A. Hardin, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912. Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.2
