(The census shows 2 males 20-30, but only one is known (Larkin). The other who might be assigned this slot is Jesse, but he was married and with several small children by 1840. There are also several individuals shown in this family tree (as of 12 May 2003) as children of Dickinson and Jane but who do not have an available slot in this census: William G., Trusannah, John Henry and Ella. All four of these appear in the 1850 census in Jane's HH.).4

Larkin probably died after his enumeration on 6 Jul 1870 for the census but before his daughter Caledonia married on 5 Jan 1871 as her marriage occurred at the "residence of Mrs. M. J. Culpepper", her stepmother. If her father were still alive at the time of her marriage, his name would probably have been specified..7,8
