Biography* Scott Parks, who is writing the Encyclopedia of the Alabama-Florida Baseball League, wrote to Sherry Whitmore on 12 Nov 2004: "Your dad was a right handed outfielder. He batted from the right side. His professional career began in Ozark, where he played for the Eagles in the Alabama State League (same league as the Alabama-Florida League). In 1947, he split time between the Enterprise Boll Weevils and the Alex City Millers of the Georgia-Alabama League. In 1948, he returned to Alex City, where he hit a career-high 11 homers and drove in 75 runs. In 1949, he played for Vidalia in the Georgia State League. He returned to Alex City in 1951, where he batted .320 in limited service."
