Biography* Obituary:
Charles William Culpeper, Sr., of Appomattox, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005. He was born in 1925, in Appomattox County, to the late Luther and Callie Culpeper. He attended and graduated from Appomattox County High School.
     Charles was a faithful member of Mt. Obed Baptist Church and he later attended a church in Philadelphia, Pa. He served in the U.S. armed services until he received a medical and honorable discharge. He married Vernice Culpeper of Concord and in later years remarried.
     Charles is survived by seven children, Pamela Culpeper, Charles Culpeper Jr. (Lorna), Michael Culpeper (Mildred), Rita Daniels (Larry), Bruce Culpeper (Maria), Kay Culpeper and Callie Culpeper; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
     A funeral and visitation service will be conducted from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Community Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at 5:30 p.m. in Peaceful Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to comfuneral@aol.com.
