Biography* Obituary:
Charlie E. Culpepper, 62, of Hortense, formerly of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Sept. 2, 2005, at his retirement residence in Georgia. He was the son of the late W.R. and Elva Lee Morgan Culpepper. The Waycross native had lived in Nassau County, Fla., since 1963. He had retired from his position as a machine oiler with the Container Corporation of America paper mill facility in Fernandina Beach with 35 years of service. He also served his country in the United States Navy. Survivors are his wife, Shirley Wilder Culpepper of Hortense; a brother, Arthur 'Knot' Culpepper of Hortense; two sisters, Camille Purcell and Tina Tillman, both of Waycross; an uncle, Harley Morgan of Jesup; an aunt, Deena Seiler of Waynesville, N.C. Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wilder Cemetery in Nassauville with Brother R.C. Mathis officiating. Mr. Culpepper received military honors from the Nassau County Veterans Honor Guard. Oxley-Heard Funeral Home of Fernandina Beach, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
