"To the best of my knowledge, my Grandmother, Fannie L. Thomas (b 17th Feb 1860, Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co, AR; d 22 Aug 1942, Little Rock, Pulaski Co, AR) was orphaned in 1862 and became the foster child of Isabella Eliza Jane Mills Culpepper (b 05 Sep 1835, TN; d 12 May 1889, Little Rock, AR, Burial Bellwood Cem, Pine Bluff, AR) the 2nd wife of Rev. James Lawrence Culpepper (b 19 Oct 1820, Anson Co, NC; d 05 Sep 1864, Pine Bluff, AR).

The 1880 Little Rock, AR Census indicates Isabella and my Grandfather had two children in their household, my then 19 yr old Grandmother "Fannie" (Isabella and the Rev Culpepper's foster child) and a 17 yr old boy "James" obviously the only surviving child (James Noel Culpepper b 08 May 1863, d 16 Sep 1936) of Isabella and the Rev Culpepper.      "After Isabella died in 1889, it appears per Jefferson Co, AR marriage records, my Grandfather, George Harrison Ware, then married Fannie L. C. Thomas (initial "C" standing for Culpepper the name she used in childhood and most of her adult life) in Pine Bluff, AR, 10 Nov 19 1890. They had 6 children the last being my Father Thomas Edward Ware, Sr.
"Further, my Grandmother's Sister, Mary E. Thomas (b 8 Jul 1857, d 22 Oct 1916), was raised in the foster home of the Mills in Pine Bluff, AR and used the Mills name until her marriage to James Wiley Monk."1
