Obituary*6 Jul 2006 Services for Mrs. Gayle Stevens Culpepper, 49, of Sallis were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Sallis Baptist Church with burial in the Sallis Cemetery.

Mrs. Culpepper, a native of Attala County, died Jun 30, 2006 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. She was a member of West Baptist Church where she served with her husband who is pastor of the church. She was born in Kosciusko and graduated high school from Attala Christian School. She loved floral designing, directing weddings, cooking, and canning vegetables. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She is survived by her husband, James Culpepper of Sallis; three sons Chris (Amanda) Taylor of Columbus, Steven Culpepper, Greg Culpepper, both of Sallis; her mother, Bettye (Earl) Shumaker of Sallis; a sister, Cindy (Andy) Cochran of Sallis; two brothers, Paul (Joy) Stevens of Zama, Eddie (Dee Dee) Stevens of Decatur, Ohio; a granddaughter, Madison Lynn Taylor of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Stevens. Rev. Thomas Wicker, Rev. Kenny Culpepper and Rev. Lynn Cain officiated. Pallbearers were Cliff Bishop, Joe Roberts, Allen Burrell, Rick Farmer, Todd Browning, Johnny Pilgrim, Barry Cain and Lailon Dorsey. James Ellis served as an honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be made to the Sallis Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 146, Sallis, MS. 39160. Culpepper Funeral Home handled arrangements.2
