Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Jasper Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Sandfield Cemetery with the Rev. Lonnie T. Hurd officiating. Services are under the direction of Williams and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Curtis Spikes, Richard McMichael, Bert Jones, Eugene Perry, Eddie Williams, James Earl Goffney and Jerome Goffney. Mr. Culpepper was a retired logging contractor and a member of Jasper Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Culpepper of New Waverly; son, Robert Holmes of Coldspring (San Jacinto Co.); son, Eddie Holmes of Livingston (Polk Co.); daughter, Sandra McMichael of New Waverly; sister, Juanita Anderson of Houston; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.1
