Pleasant and Houston, passed away, April 30, 2007, in Conroe surrounded by his family. He was born May 30, 1925, in Houston to Dewey E. Helmcamp, Sr. and Irene Helmcamp and was preceded in death by his parents and his devoted wife of almost 62 years, Betty Joy CULPEPPER Helmcamp. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, the greatest love he had was his love for his wife and family. Mr. Helmcamp is survived by brother, Juddy Helmcamp and family. Left to honor his memory are also his son, Col. Dewey E. "Trey" Helmcamp III, USA (Ret) and wife Mary of Round Rock; daughters, Cynthia House and husband Larry of Conroe and Carrie Heasley and husband Jerry of Porter; grandchildren, John Helmcamp and wife Jacquie, Dr. Jeff Helmcamp and wife Dr. Jennifer Helmcamp, Scott Helmcamp, Courtney House, Clint Houst, Spencer Heasley and Morgan Heasley; great grandchildren, Madeliene Helmcamp and Hunter Helmcamp. A private memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Army Emergency Relief Fund, www.aerhq.org or Habitat for Humanity..3
