On 9 October 1909 she married William Thomas Culpepper, Sr. Children: Louise (Mrs. S.B.) Smith (deceased); William Thomas, Jr. (deceased); Levin Butler, married Jane Aydlett. She attended Atlantic Collegiate Institute and taught in Dare and Pasquotank Counties. She was president of Carolina Amusement Co. (1945-1970); secretary-treasurer Carolina-Virginia Amusement Corp. (1945-1960; Worthy Grand Matron, Eastern Star (1937-38); past president Elizabeth City Garden Club; past president Elizabeth City Woman's Club; member of First Baptist Church. She died 19 May 1973 and is buried in Old Hollywood Cemetery.9 |
