He registered for the WW-I draft on 5 Jun 1917 in Wilmington, DE (which he listed as his home address), was married, and had previously served 3 years in the Navy.

In 1920 Census, he was living in Manhattan, NY, indicated that his parents were also born in NC, and was married to Marcelle, born 1889 in France, with no children.

Upon arrival by ship into NYC on 24 Jul 1924 (Marcelle not with him), he again said he was born in Fayetteville, NC on 17 Sep 1889, and showed address as 107 Jones Street West, Savannah, GA

In 1930 Census, he was back in Manhattan, NY, again indicated that his parents were born in NC, and he was still married to Marcelle, born 1889 in France, with no children.
