As for the first wife of Benjamin being Esther, this idea came originally from David Robertson, of Stone Mountain, GA, who first proposed this idea back in the late 1970's, based on research he had done at the SC archives. But it is clear that Benjamin of SC did have a wife prior to Joyce Powell Shepphard who was the mother of his sons.
