Biography* My grandmother Mary Effie Hitt (Bishop) b.10-28-1900 had 2 sisters Rose C.Hitt(Pilgrim) b. 10-10-1903 and Della Hitt(Couch)b. 2-14-1905, they were the daughters of William (Bill) Henry Hitt b. 8-9-1868 and Lena Edwards b. unknown--William and Lena married 1898 in Franklin co. Texas . Lena died abt 1907 we think in either Franklin, Titus or Camp County Texas. William remarried a Emma Kelly in Camp County sometime before 1913. He died 2-14-1952 and Emma died 2-14-1951. ...Lena was supposed to be the daughter of FABE EDWARDS and MARY JANE CULPEPPER with a sister named MYRTLE that married a WOODS and a brother named JOE. This was
told to me by my daddy. ...My grandmother had an uncle that she called Uncle Bud and he was married to a lady named Virgie....
