Biography* Jefferson made his living operating a carnival. He and his wife are buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Houston, Texas. My husbands line is through Jefferson's daughter Mattie Grace Culpepper Toney. She married James Mack Toney on December 12, 1910 in Houston, Texas. Mattie's daughter, Emily Toney Schiller, told me her mother was born in Ga. She also told me that one of Jefferson's brothers owned a large store in Fort Gaines, Ga.
