Biography* Edward Newton & Thursa Culpepper (B 1858,D 1914) He had three other wives. Their son was William Emerson Newton (b 1895,d 1966). He married Arlene Ammond Firestone. There children were Estus Newton (b. 1917 & married to Frances Horton) & Zelda Opal Newton (b. 1919) Zelda married Ted Billings.

Frances Horton's parents were Frances Whitaker & Glenn Ives Horton (b. 1897, d.1891) Glenn Horton's parents were Joseph Kennedy Horton & Carry Louise Ives.

They had Horton's Drug store which used to be across the street from the McMinn County Court House, in Athens, TN.

The Newton's had the Athens Bus Station and used to run a bus from Athens to Etowah. They were also the owners of Newton's Restaurant which used to be across from the McMinn County Court House in Athens, TN.
