24 May 1977, page 3B. Obituary for M. Sgt. (Ret.) L. E. Culpepper of Grovetown who died 21 May 1977 in an Augusta Hospital. Interment 25 May 1977 with full military honors in Bellevue cemetery. A native of Ocilla, GA, he lived in Columbia County for the past 28 years. He served 22 years in the US Army and was a veteran of both WW-II and Korea. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary McMahan Culpepper of Grovetown; two daughters, Miss Patricia Culpepper of Decatur, GA, and Miss Janet Culpepper of Grovetown; three sons, David E. Culpepper of Carrollton, GA, and Robert E. Culpepper and Richard E. Culpepper of Grovetown; four sisters, Mrs. G. C. Berner of Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. C. G. Moody of Gaineville, FL, Mrs. Clarence Mobley of Ocilla, GA, and Mrs. W. F. Fletcher of of Schula, GA; and three brohers, Fletcher Culpepper of Poulan, GA, J. C. CUlpepper of Ocilla, GA, and Oris Culpepper of Mystic, GA.
