DNA* From DNA and genealogical evidence we conclude that John Allen Culpepper is a descendant of Stephen Josephius Culpepper who is thought to be a son of Lemuel Culpepper of Jasper Co., GA. DNA suggests Lemuel descends (father unknown) from Benjamin Culpepper of Edgecombe Co., NC.

 He was the son of Stephen H. Culpepper and Nancy Elizabeth Bays.
