Graveside funeral services for Kate Culpepper, 91, were held Sunday, Feb. 25 (1996), at Swift Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Roberts and Rev. Dr. Don Purvis officiated. Brown-Pennington-Akins Funeral Home was in charge. Ms. Culpepper died Friday, Feb. 23. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Robert B. and Chellie Addella James Culpepper. She was retired from J. L. Coker & Company and was a member of the Calvin Rhodes clan. Surviving are a sister, Mary Margaret Culpepper, Hartsville; nine nieces and nephews.
