Married Name10 Aug 1912  As of 10 Aug 1912, her married name was Dearman.4

1920 Census1 Jan 1920 Mae, Irine, Marie, Millie, Iva and Leo was listed as a daughter in John Tilman Culpepper's household on the 1920 Census at Seminary, Covington Co., Mississippi.5 
Married Namesay 1940  As of say 1940, her married name was Shields. 
Marriagesay 1940 She married (?) Shields say 1940. 
Death*19 Jan 1976 She died on 19 Jan 1976.2 
Burial*circa 21 May 1976 Her body was interred circa 21 May 1976 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Covington Co., Mississippi.2 
Research note*Apr 2008 It is possible that some records for more than one person have been combined here and/or Mae Demerse Culpepper has been misidentified. The marriage record is ofr a "Mary Culpepper", but of course, that could have been transcribed in error. But May Culpepper appears in John Tilman Culpepper's household as a single woman in both the 1910 and 1920 censuses. While she is shown in 1930 in Covington Co. with J. Benjamin Dearman with six children, ranging up to 14 years of age. However, none of these Dearmans can be found in 1920. More research is needed, and your help with this family would be appreciated.6
