Published on 04/03/92, The Virginian-Pilot. Leroy Norman Culpepper III, 88, of the 3200 block of Old Mill Road, a retired self-employed merchant, died April 1, 1992, in his home. Mr. Culpepper was born in Norfolk County, and was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Grace McDilda Culpepper; six daughters,
Shirley C. Wilder of Columbia, S.C., and Norma C. Stanton, Carole C.
Williams, Phyllis C. Sawyer, Eleanor C. Sibley and Sylvia C. Applewhite, all of Chesapeake; a son, Stephen D. Culpepper of Chesapeake; a brother, Beverly B. Culpepper of Suffolk; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernie Myers and the Rev. Theodore Bashford. Burial will be in the Culpepper family cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Mission.
