DNA* From DNA and genealogical evidence we conclude that Thomas Culpepper is a descendant of Thomas Culpepper, who is a son of Henry Culpepper, Jr. and grandson Henry Culpepper of Lower Norfolk, VA.

 He was the son of John Culpepper Jr. and Sarah Brown
1820 Census7 Aug 1820 Thomas and John was probably a free white male, age 16 and under 26, in John Culpepper Jr.'s household, on the 1820 Census at Norfolk Co., Virginia. Enumerated in census but otherwise not identified are 1 F0-10, 1 F10-16 and 3 F16-26..1

(To daughter Lydia, 30 acres where I now live, it being a portion drawn from my father's estate, also 30 acres adjoining the aforementioned land and that track that my father John Culpepper willed to me; to daughter Ann, 50 acres lying back of the aforesaid land and along the Norfolk & Petersburg rail; to daughter Dorcas, 60 acres of swamp land; Lydia gets first choice of personal property and Ann second choice; witnesses: Sylvester B. Moore, William Richardson, John W. Simmons).5
