Biography* Helena never married, but my father and his siblings were very fond of her: apparently she was a wonderful storyteller, and used to fascinate them with anecdotes about her childhood in Barbados. What a pity that tales like that were left unrecorded! Her neice and nephews called her 'Tantie,' to rhyme with the English -- not the American! -- pronunciation of 'auntie'.3
