Mr. Culpepper was born in Henry Co., TN in 1824. He moved to Shannon Co. in 1892 and settled on the farm where he died. He leaves a companion and 11 children - 5 sons and 6 dau, a number of grand and great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his demise. He was a kind husband, a good father, a good neighbor and was respected by all who knew him. I have known him ever since I was a small boy and he was one man that I never heard any man say aught against. If he ever had an enemy we never knew of it. He possessed the principle that it takes to make a true man. J. M. Overcast
