Florine "Flo" Dawkins, March 4, 1921- December 29, 2004
COLUMBUS, GA- Florine "Flo" Dawkins, 83, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Visitation will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Dawkins was born March 4, 1921 in Talbot County, daughter of the late Clifford Roy and Allie Lucille Sullivan Culpepper. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Waverly Dashiell, a member of the Muscogee County Medical Assistants, Muscogee County Chapter of ABWA, Wynnbrook Baptist Church, and former member of the McClaskey Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Mrs. Dawkins was the widow of William I. "Bill" Dawkins. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Dawkins Lassiter and son-in-law, Darrell (Skip) Lassiter of Columbus; three grandchildren, Paige Lassiter Adams and husband Mike, Darrell C. "Skip" Lassiter, Jr., and wife Patricia and William Christopher Lassiter; seven great grandchildren, Hunter Adams, Bryan Lassiter, Cole Lassiter, Damien Lassiter, Kemby Lassiter, and Mathew Lassiter. Flowers will be accepted, those so desiring may make contributions to Columbus Hospice House, St. Francis Foundation, or The American Cancer Society.
